Real. Beautiful. You.
Wedding and family photography in Scranton, Pennsylvania.
Serving Northeast Pennsylvania, the Poconos, and beyond.
Calm direction. Natural photographs. Nothing forced.
You do not need to know what to do in front of a camera.
Most people I photograph are not used to being in front of a camera. You do not need to know how to pose or what to do. Knowing how to guide you and make the experience feel easy is part of my job.
I keep things calm and light, give clear direction, and work efficiently so the photography never takes over. There is room to laugh, talk, and spend time with your people. You will never be left wondering what to do, but I will not try to control every moment either.
I take the responsibility seriously so the experience can feel easy, personal, and never like a production. The photographs are edited with a natural, timeless approach, so they will still feel fresh and unmistakably like you years from now.
WEDDINGS
Wedding days move quickly, and you should not have to spend yours managing the photography.
I keep portraits and family photographs light and easy, help when needed, and pay attention to everything happening beyond the obvious moments.
You will receive the photographs you expect, along with the expressions, interactions, and smaller moments you may not have seen. The day stays yours, and nothing important is left to chance.
FAMILIES
Family sessions do not need to be stiff, complicated, or perfectly behaved.
We will make the photographs you came for, while leaving room for children to move, people to laugh, and everyone to relax into being together.
I will give clear direction, keep things moving, and adjust when needed so the session feels easy without trying to control every moment.
Hi, I’m Zak Zavada
I photograph weddings and family portraits with a calm presence and a natural eye, focused on real connection over performance. Kristen and I work together to create photographs and an experience that feels honest, calm, and lasting. Never overdone.
Best for people who value trust, natural moments, and photographs that will still feel right years from now.
You don’t have to love being in front of a camera. You just have to be yourself.
"From the first phone call to the final gallery delivery, he was kind, professional, incredibly talented, and a joy to be around."
